Luke 21:25-38
We see unanticipated, disruptive, and not understood signs will cause anxiety, confusion and fear (25-
28). Jesus explains to His disciples these same events will not impact them as others. Like trees in the
spring, when they bud and begin to leave, we see summer coming. What disturbs this world, is a
positive sign to the church being assured of HIs coming kingdom. We must trust in His word and guard
our hearts from distractions like drunkenness and worries of life. We stay alert by, “…praying that you
may have strength to escape all these things that are about to take place, and to stand before the Son
of Man.” (36). What brings anxiety to this world, brings joyful excitement to the church because we see
Jesus coming!
