Luke 10:1-16
Jesus appointed seventy to go in pairs where He was going. He never sends us where He is not going.
Yet, we must honor His direction. We are to go where and how Jesus directs us. We are sent as sheep
among wolves and are not to be sidetracked with defensiveness. We are also not to be distracted by
concerns for provisions, but be content with food and housing as appropriate wages for our labors. We
must not be discouraged by men’s rejection [lack of success], but trust God to handle judgment issues.
We are to stay focused on healing the sick and declaring God’s kingdom. For all who desire to be truly
effective, we must embrace these principles of message and strategy. Healing and miracles are not
optional, but an essential part of the strategy given by Christ. We are not called to success, but to
seeking and obeying God regardless of it.
