Luke 24:50-52
Before ascending to heaven, Jesus last action was to bless His disciples. Their response was worship
and return to the Jerusalem [place He told them to wait]. They had the promise of Jesus [Holy Spirit],
the direction of Jesus [wait in Jerusalem] and His blessing. “And they, after worshiping Him, returned to
Jerusalem with great joy, and were continually in the temple praising God.” (52) In between the place of
promise and its fulfillment, they gathered in persistent praise. In Jesus absence, worship and persistent
praise can carry us from the place of promise to the place of provision and fulfillment of His promises.
