Luke 14:12-24
Jesus spoke to His host about who should be invite to his parties. He should not focus on those who
can repay, but on those who can’t repay thus investing in eternity. He also gave a parable about dinner
guests invited to a big dinner, but when it was prepared, they made excuses and did not attend. These
were not flimsy excuses, but investments in property, business and even relationships (marriage). We
face many important issues, but when we neglect God’s invitations to dine with Him, they become
idolatrous. insult God's preparation, and are infuriating to Him. Are we distracted by investments in this
life, or are we willing to make God’s invitation our priority and invest in eternal life?
