“For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life so that I may take it again.” (17) The sacrificial love Jesus displayed by going to the cross endeared His Father’s heart toward Him. Yet, the crowd was divided with many saying He had a demon and was crazy. Others said He did not sound like, or do the work of, a man with a demon. There are no arguments or works of the Spirit that are able to convince those who cling to the darkness of traditions. The Good Shepherd presented the truth, but even He was not able to convince everyone of it. Let us persist in presenting and demonstrating the Gospel through the power of the Holy Spirit. However, let us not be disheartened by those who cling to darkness!
