The impact of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead increased as people gathered in Jerusalem for Passover. Consequently, many sought Him out and greeted Him with loud and expressive worship saying: “…’Hosanna! BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD, even the King of Israel.’” (13b). Jesus entered with humility riding on a donkey, but this did not lesson the reality that He was and is Zion’s king. Those who came to worship God, received the testimony about Jesus and gave extravagant expressions of worship. Most of those in positions of power and comfort became increasingly agitated conspiring to shut Him down. How do we receive the testimony of Jesus as King? Do we try to maintain control seeking to preserve our comfort levels, or do we enthusiastic receive and declare Him to be our King with enthusiastic praise?
