“When Jesus had spoken these words, He went forth with His disciples over the Ravine of the Kidron, where there was a garden, in which He entered with His disciples.” (1). Jesus prepared for the Father’s will by equipping words and intercessory prayer for His disciples. Judas prepared for the betrayal of Jesus by receiving a group of Roman soldiers and temple guards armed with lanterns, torches and weapons. The power Jesus possessed from His preparations knocked the soldiers down, but He willingly yielded to them, and thus, the carried out His Father’s will. Peter’s act of violence emerged from a passionate attachment to wrong concepts interfering with God’s will. Jesus’ rebuked Him and kept all the disciples safe. How are we preparing for our dark days? Does our response reflect spiritual preparation or fortification so we do not suffer?
