Jesus sees what we cannot because of because of our earthly posture and perspective: “He who comes from above is above all, he who is of the earth is from earth and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.” (31). Reception of His perspective is essential for truth. How we feel about it is irrelevant. He speaks God’s words for He received a measureless supply of God’s Spirit. Truth is not received by genius or intellectual ability, but by the Spirit! Without the Holy Spirit truth cannot be acquired. Jesus possesses all truth because His Father loves Him. We have no other option! “He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God’s abides on him.” (36) We are born under the cloud of God’s wrath, but we are liberated into light of truth by believing and trusting in Christ alone!
