“The sons of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, received their inheritance.” (4) Though Joseph was looked down on and plotted against by his brothers, God prevailed for Joseph blessing and exalted him, and now giving his descendants the inheritance of two tribes. They struggled to drive out the Canaanites for they had iron chariots and were strong. Joshua encouraged them to drive out the Canaanites even though they were strong. Jesus said, “…’All things are possible to him who believes.’” (Mark 9:23). When facing the obstacle of riches, the disciples wondered how they could be saved. “Looking at them, Jesus said, ‘With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.’” (Mark 10:27). When moving into what God has for us, let’s not be disheartened by various obstacles, but move forward believing in God and not ourselves!
