Luke 12:22-34
Jesus taught the folly of worrying about material needs. He illustrates this in nature. “Consider the
ravens, for they neither sow nor reap; they have no storeroom nor barn, and yet God feeds them; how
much more valuable you are than the birds.” (24) Seeing how God feeds the birds, beautifies nature,
and values us, frees us of anxiety. We are not to be like this world, “But seek His kingdom, and these
things will be added to you.” (31). Generosity insures our security (here & heaven) and keeps our heart
in its God intended place. “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (34). If our hearts
are not right, we can move our treasure. Though the world seeks the false security found in
possessions, we can know true security by knowing God and being generous!
