Nehemiah 9:9-15
“You saw the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, And heard their cry by the Red Sea. Then you performed signs and wonders against Pharaoh,….” (9-10a) In this celebration of praise to God, they acknowledge Him for hearing their cry for help in their helplessness. Their praise goes on to point out God’s miraculous intervention protecting them from their enemies as they departed Egypt, the place of bondage. They give attention to God’s attentiveness to their needs and their enemies thoughts and strategies. Our enemies can not operate outside the knowledge of the God Who loves us. Nothing escapes the attentiveness of His care. Day and night they were led by His manifest presence lighting the path during the journey to complete deliverance. At Mount Sinai, God provided the essential revelation for their behavior and celebrations essential to maintain a healthy relationship with Him. He even provided for their physical needs. When God invites us to a path of deliverance leading to His promises, we need not fear, for He is capable and willing to provide all we need spiritually and physically. There is no inadequacy in God.
