Luke 20:27-40
Sadducees, who do not believe in resurrection, came to Jesus with a hypothetical question attempting
to derail His ministry effectiveness. Jesus’ response revealed the hypocrisy and false assumptions in
their question. First, their ignorance of the nature of life after death was rooted in the presumption there
is no resurrection. Second, they clung to their belief system due to willful ignorance of Scripture where
Moses calls… “…the LORD THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, AND THE GOD OF ISAAC, AND GTHE GOD
OF JACOB. Now He is not the God of the dead but of the living; for all live to Him.” (37b-8). Pride and
presumption go hand and hand. Let us humbly approach the Scripture without presumption less we be
blinded to truth.
