Luke 7:11-17
When Jesus, His disciples, and a large crowd entered Nain, they came to a funeral procession of the
only son of a widow. “When the Lord saw her, He felt compassion for her, and said to her, ‘Do not
weep.’” (13) Then He spoke to the young man calling him to life. Like Jesus, when moved with
compassion, we can call the dead to life resulting in the glory of God. Also we should not:. “Fear
gripped them all, and they began glorifying God,…” (16a). When moved by compassion and the honor
of God’s name, we experience the supernatural realm scarier and way more beneficial than Halloween.
We could use a little more fear of God in our culture and in our churches.
