1 Kings 9:1-9 “Heeding God’s Word”
“Now it came about when Solomon had finished building the house of the LORD, and the king’s house, and all that Solomon desired to do, that the LORD appeared to Solomon a second time,…” (1-2a) God has heard his prayer and petitions and consecrated the house Solomon built by “…putting My name there forever, and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually.” (3b). In saying this God is committing to being among them with His presence, His perception and His passion. However, as is often the case, God’s promises are not without conditions. “As for you, if you will walk before Me as your father David walked, in the integrity of heart and uprightness, doing according to all that I have commanded you and will keep My statutes and My ordinances,…” (4) God’s promise of establishing the rule of his kingdom for he and his descendants hinges on their obedience to His Word. However, if they ignore or reject God’s word after what He has done for them and worship Egypts gods, He will bring adversity on them. It is important for us to value and pay attention to God’s word and walk in obedience to all He says.https://youtu.be/uMtzdXQmpvI
