Pastor John reviews Revelation 3:1-6, which highlights the church of Sardis. It was a city of easy money, a detached community with little discipline. This attitude found its way into the Church. Focused on their reputation and good appearance, they were “dead”. What they achieved was not the works of God but for themselves and not transferable to eternity. Refer to Matthew 19-21, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; [21] for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Be watchful and awake to be prepared for the second coming not like ill prepared Sardis.
