Luke 11:24-26
Jesus said when a man is delivered of a demon, it goes various places seeking rest. Then it decides to
return to the house [body] from which it came. Upon arrival it finds the place in order, so it gets seven
other spirits worse than it to join him to live there. “…; and the last state of that man becomes worse
than the first.” (26b). Freedom from one thing does not save us from being bound to worse things. We
may think, “If I could just get free of this one thing, then I would have peace.” However, true freedom
requires we be filled with God’s Spirit and yield to His rule and will. Anything less will only produce a
temporary relief and not lasting peace.
