Luke 7:18-23
John the Baptist heard of Jesus’ amazing miracles, but was confused by his arrest and pending
execution. He sent disciples to ask Jesus if He was the Christ. At that time Jesus performed many
miracles: “And He answered and said to them, ‘Go and report to John what you have seen and heard:
the BLIND RECEIVE SIGHT, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are
raised up, the POOR HAVE THE GOSPEL PREACHED TO THEM. Blessed is he who does not take
offense at Me.’” (22-23). Even great men struggle with faith at times of great trial. But Jesus answered
him with powerful demonstrations, a proclamation meeting true needs, and an exhortation not to be offended by Him when circumstances seem perplexing. When faced with faith challenges, let us
remember God’s works, God’s word and God’s ways which differ from ours.
