Luke 11:27-28
Upon hearing Jesus teach and seeing His miracles, a women called out saying, “…’Blessed is the
womb that bore You and the breasts at which You nursed.’” (27c). How often today we think we are
blessed when related to someone famous or gifted. Sometimes we hear people boast of being related
to, or knowing someone famous. However, Jesus saw this differently: “But He said, ‘On the contrary,
blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.’” (28). Being blessed is not found in
abundance of possessions or in who we know, but in valuing God’s Word and walking it out in our lives.
